WELCOME TO THE
CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Clark County Jail - Mail Distribution
Here is the complete guide to send books to inmates at Clark County Sheriff’s Office made easy with SureShot Books!
In order to limit the potential introduction of drugs and other forms of contraband into the facility and ensure the safety and security of inmates, staff and visitors, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office will begin scanning all non-commercial, non-legal U.S. Postal service mail addressed to inmates. The inmate name and ID Number must be clearly printed on the outside of the envelope along with the sender’s. Failure to include this information could result in lost or misdirected mail. Mail items that are not able to be scanned (i.e., pop-up cards, etc.) will be returned to the sender. The scanned correspondence will be individually delivered electronically to the inmate via the kiosk system. The original mail item addressed to an inmate will be stored in inmate’s property and will be returned to the inmate upon release.
In addition, friends and family will now be able to attach pictures to email messages sent to inmates in the facility. The contents of email attachments will be scanned for inappropriate material and, if found, could result in the attachment not being delivered and/or disciplinary action.
Normal mail rules continue to apply and content violations may prevent delivery of correspondence and/or email attachments to inmates.
Legal mail will continue to be received at the facility and is considered privileged. This mail will be opened and inspected (not read) in the presence of the inmate. If found to be legitimate legal correspondence, it will be photocopied and provided to the inmate, at which time the original will then be destroyed in the presence of the inmate.
