About the Author

Peter Rea is an Associate Professor at NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, Institute of Film & Television. He has extensive experience developing feature film, television, and theatrical projects. He is the co-author of Producing and Directing the Short Film and Video for Focal Press that is currently in its fifth edition and has been translated into six languages. Peter has taught courses in beginning, intermediate and advanced film & TV production, screenwriting, producing, and critical studies.

Matthew Polis is founder of the boutique sound house SoundSpace in New York City, and has been sound designing and mizing films for nearly 25 years. He has built and operated three post houses, the latest in Boulder, CO, offering full post audio services including cinema surround mixing, Foley recording, sound design and audio repair. Matthew was an adjunct professor at NYU for post audio and mixing for six years.
