Description

From the ages of 11-24, the author was subjected to sexual, mental and physical abuse by her biological father. She told no-one about the abuse until she was 65 years old. Even her husband of over 40 years was unaware of her past. But when she finally found the courage to tell all, her daughters and husband encouraged her to write "No Tears for my Father" in the hope it would help other victims of incest to realize they are not alone. "No Tears for my Father" earned the author, Viga Boland, a Gold Medal in the 2014 Readers Favorite Book Awards. Her book trailer video on YouTube has had nearly 20,000 views. Until now, the only way to purchase a printed copy was through the author's own website, but digital copies have been selling briskly on iTunes, Barnes and Noble and Amazon, where she has over 50 reviews and primarily 5-star ratings. Readers have said they're unable to put this book down. When you start reading "No Tears for my Father", you'll know why. But it is graphic because the author believes her story must be told the way it happened. At the request of fans who wanted to know how Viga Boland recovered from the abuse and found happiness after the pain, Viga wrote "Learning to Love Myself", a beautiful love story of self-discovery that gives victims of abuse hope of happiness. This version of "No Tears for my Father" provides a sample chapter from that book and from Viga Boland's latest book, "The Ladies of Loretto."

About the Author
Viga Boland has authored 3 memoirs in 2 years. Her first memoir, "NO TEARS FOR MY FATHER", a true account of the sexual, mental and physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her father for 14 years won a Gold Medal in the 2014 Readers Favorite Book Awards. At the request of her fans, Viga wrote her second memoir, "LEARNING TO LOVE MYSELF" in 2014. This book is her account of healing, recovery and self-discovery after abuse. Through the love of her spouse and children she learned to love herself. This is an inspiring story of redemption that gives hope to the abused. In a complete departure from the style of her 2 previous memoirs, in 2015 Viga Boland published "The Ladies of Loretto", a delightful and humorous account of her 4-5 years as a student in a Catholic high school for girls only back in the 60's. Called "timeless" by teachers currently employed by that same school, "The Ladies of Loretto" is a joyous romp down memory lane for anyone who attended Catholic High Schools back when there were no cell phones and sex-ed and the nuns wore long black habits and carried yardstick rulers to keep students in check. Now retired, Viga Boland currently runs memoir writing workshops for the Hamilton Public Library. She is also the editor/publisher of "Memoirabilia", a magazine for memoir writers. Memoirabilia features how-to articles, author interviews, book reviews and submissions by writers. Check it out and subscribe at http: //www.memoirabilia.ca
